Vivian Krause signs off — good night, and good luck
Thought of The Day
“The Krause Brief…”
I've just found out that Vivian Krause is taking a break from blogging and investigative journalism. "Family comes first!" concludes Vivian here:
http://fairquestions.typepad.com/rethink_campaigns/2012/06/thank-you-bye-for-now.html
And I agree.
The WHY, the WHO, the HOW, the WHEN, the WHERE… were all there in her ambitiously composed articles.
Too bad the powers that be were lazy powers that… are, and it took them ages to start paying attention to her research.
The fact that Vivian is leaving blogging, in the lookout for security, speaks volumes, on the hardships faced by the lonesome bloggers in general, and is the best answer to her accusers regarding "her sources of income".
Now, if it's not too much to ask, can we have some open dialog with the 'awarded' Vancouver Observer and have their financials disclosed?
Naah, I didn't think so!
If there was one journalist, yes… journalist, that CJF should have awarded on the West Coast, undoubtedly, no question in my mind, that would have been Vivian Krause!
I would put Vivian not in between, but next to Erin Brockovich, Darby Shaw the fictional character in John Grisham’s “The Pelican Brief” and the fonder of the Body Shop – Anita Roddick. Erin because she was on her own during her fight with the medical system, and against the Big Pharma, Darby because she had a great mind and an even greater filtering system, and Anita because at the base of her small business philosophy were these words:
“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a room with a mosquito.”
Vivian is all of the above, in one. From the very beginning, years ago, before she became a Coast to Coast sensation in the fight against Foreign Intervention disguised as Environmental Concern, I was on her side. Big supporter.
Looking back, I still can not believe what a stupid and/or incompetent Government we have here in Canada! Not to take notice of all this… for years?
At least now some of them, apparently, woke up, thank goodness.
Vivian’s work should be commended not ignored and/ or ridiculed.
As a matter of fact those who are trying to ridicule, in most of the cases, they are the ones having the most to lose.
You want to find holes in her research, I say, go ahead, make… My Day!
This is a war of logic and perseverance.
People should be looking at this web of Lies and Diversions as they look at a Game of Strategy.
Unfortunately, most people are too busy in their egocentric lives, too caught in their Real TV reality, to pay attention or to let themselves be bothered with things and news like this.
Sheep.
I want you to put this into perspective:
All these “Environmentalists”, brought nothing to Canada other than themselves. The very people orchestrating the “enviro” campaigns, most of them implants from down South. No other jobs, no revenue, for years, nada… they produced nothing other than “empty, scary words, words, and more words” oh, yeah, and moved “cash”. Some of them living like kings and queens in the process, I may add. And they still are.
Anyhoo. How about the… Oil? The Truth is in Vivian’s Reports, read between the lines, connect the dots.
Some of you will chose to look away, others would see nothing, some would try to make you see what they want you to see, some would be able to see the 3D stereogram in full, though.
It’s a start.
This is only the beginning. Dunno about you, but I won’t look away. I’ll keep poking at the Thing. I never fancied them leeches, to start with.
Starting next year, courtesy of Lady Clark and Entourage we’ll have a new holiday in February, I believe. If you ask me, that day I would like to be a day dedicated to people like Vivian Krause, as…
“She is a rebel. She is a fighter. She is a mother. She is a woman. She is you and me.”
We live in Vancouver and this keeps us busy.

Glissando this is one of your best posts ever…
Vivian deserves our respect for her work.. she woke many of us up.. I hope she takes a break then returns.. she will be missed and we owe her a debt of gratitude…
Thank you for your dedication Vivian…don’t let the haters get you down…
Glissy… wow!
Maybe she takes a break, maybe she is sick of it all, putting up with all these players playing from behind their cushy six figures charitable jobs, yeah I don’t think you’ll see Tzeporah Berman or David Suzuki or Linda Solomon quitting their racket any time soon, their funds are flowing, foreign interests have to be fulfilled, the channels are working just fine, unless our Government is intervening fast (joke) and finds out who is cheating the system, and who is not.
Tides Canada better tries to get her on board (bad joke) that way they finally can relax…
Take care Vivian, sorry I couldn’t be of more help to you, but you need to know we love and admire you!
xxx
Kudos Vivian for all the work you did on behalf of the… Little people! I bet the Enviro-gang is celebrating intimately somewhere in Vancouver!
Till we hear from you again, have a nice well deserved break! We’ll be looking forward…
Maybe she’ll return to her PR roots. I personally am thankful she fought the good fight to keep those foreign environmentalists away from our totally domestic fish farming and oil industry.
“she fought the good fight to keep those foreign environmentalists away from our totally domestic fish farming and oil industry” Good to see that irony is alive on CC.
Thanks GR,she is the light that made the cockroaches scatter, she is the one who made the Malthusian Suzuki step down, she is the one who stood strong against the threats from Tides and their ilk and forced the Suzuki foundation to remove 23 out of 26 lies quietly from their website, she is the one who with dogged determination and a true search for truth forced the MSM to give her airtime, but most of all she gave us hope and I thank her for that most of all.
“Hey! Don’t let that green gift horse in, there are rock-wielding fellows inside it who don’t mean us well!”
Sadly, she is Cassandra.
We live in Troy and this keeps us in denial.
Yawn. What’s with you Birdy, can’t you be a bit more original than that?
Great tribute to Vivian. Thanks, Gliss!
Finally an article that gets a bit of respect from the opposing crowd!
Not much to criticize here as Viavian did her self-appointed job with no agenda in mind, as you all know, all real agendas are backed by big money!
Not the case here though.
Can’t say the same thing about the local darlings like Suzuki the Global alarmist, Robertson the anti tanker activist, Solomons “Joel’s 500 years plan is legendarily hilarious”, all environmentalists working from behind a nice cushy charity donations racket etc.
We’ll be hearing from you soon Vivian, right?
If you read this, of course…
This is vey sad, but understandable news. As one geologist friend of mine (who lives in Nelson) wrote back upon learning of Vivian’s departure from the good fight:
***
A true shame. A big loss. As I told a friend she is in a tough spot. She needs an income like the rest of us but the minute she takes a penny from industry she hands her opponents the bullet to discredit her.
And discredit is what they intend to do. They are very good and accomplished at character assassination and they are already beginning their campaign.
Sorry to hear that Vivian!
You fought the good fight though. Wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors. Kudos, to City Caucus its editors and Glissando for the nice op-ed.
I mentioned this in the other story about blogs, but Vivian has a short window to turn this stumbling block into a stepping stone.
If I were in her shoes, I’d pitch her story to book publishers and get an advance. The movie rights to the future book likewise could be lucrative.
Normally, the left dominated movie industry would not touch this. However, with movies like “Atlas Shrugged” being made, I think those producers would want to make her movie.
If she could talk with Chris Haddock ( http://www.haddockentertainment.com/who_we_are.php ) I have no doubt that Haddock could write a script good enough that a major studio would bankroll the project in spite of the politics.
Nothing sells a good drama like “Based on a True Story.” Her ending hasn’t been written, but she can accomplish everything she ever hoped for if she can put it on paper and pitch it correctly.
For Vivian Krause, I have a feeling her life is going to take a turn for the better. The personal attacks and ridicule meant to harm her will benefit her tremendously. The good guys and the bad guys can be distinguished in her story – because it’s not opinion. She has the tax returns. She has the documents. The cold equations guarantee that the stowaways of her story will be ejected out the airlock.
The problem I see in making Vivian’s story into a motion picture or a TV series… is the fact that we might just stumble across the same financiers that Vision, Robertson, and others like them are using as their cash flow Godfathers! Plus going after the Environmentalists in this city (Hollywood North LOL) is like trying to swim through a school of jellyfish. I am sure that Tides Canada, the Rockefeller Bros and other heavy “charitable” donors would do anything to bring any project of this persuasion to a complete halt, as it directly attacks their own financial empire and hidden agenda. They just cannot stop giving… and then taking.
Regardless, I too wish Vivian the best of luck.
All you have to do is frame the story around good environmentalists vs. bad environmentalists. That is the story after all. Can the real environmentalists really justify their efforts being co-opted for financial gain?
It will take a solid script. A complete story with drama and good guys and bad guys. All the elements are present. Krause’s story is pro-legitimate environmentalism.
Local opposition can’t stop a book. Local opposition can’t stop a production that could come from anywhere in the world. Good stories like this are bankable. Tides and Rockefeller are not the only bankrolls available.
Why shouldn’t real environmentalism triumph over the veneer of environmentalism?
Haddock made good TV — “Intelligence” being one of the best Canadian series ever, as well as the best of Da Vinci’s Inquest.
Krause’s story is interesting, though I think she’d admit it’s hardly the stuff of thrillers. Haddock would probably take a pass because of his own politics.
He’s writing on “Boardwalk Empire” right now, but did just pitch a new Vancouver based drama to HBO. In spite of his politics, he’s got a keen eye for the nuance of Vivian’s efforts. Smart people realize that she is a genuine environmentalist who truly wants to do some good rather than an opportunist using environmentalism as a ruse to make money or achieve political power.
The machinations of the politics is good drama, but it would take a story-teller of Haddock’s ability to slowly draw it out and place it in proper dramatic context. It would do some good for the real environmental movement which conservatives do not oppose and which all Canadians genuinely support. It is the good intentions and sense of duty – the essential goodness of Canadians that is being exploited by the political figures in Vancouver for power and money. That makes for a powerful bad guy and a legitimate conflict to tell an important story.
When you look at how and why Vivian is attacked, the naked evil of the political players is exposed and the sheep’s clothing is removed. Telling this story slowly, carefully and dramatically is something Haddock could use as a springboard for many stories and solid drama.
Likewise, the reality of the economics and the venal motives of some in the oil industry is a legitimate part of the story. It takes fiction to flesh out the issue and influence people. A solid take in a fictional setting is the best way to do it.
As far as our hero, Vivian Krause, I am personally impressed with her general kindness and generosity in revealing what she has revealed. Her demeanor and attitude under attack is good legal drama too. You simply cannot successfully cross-examine a completely honest witness. The frustration of the bad guys and political manipulators in Vancouver is quite entertaining. She may have given up her blog, but she was not beaten.
There’s a good Canadian TV series with Chris Haddock’s name on it using this material and all politics can be set aside when it is honestly presented for public consumption. Both sides have something to learn about the real world and the importance of the issues involved.
All it’s going to take is the right script. A solid writer. That’s why I thought of Haddock. If his politics preclude the reality of what has been exposed, that’s a shame. I just don’t know of any other writer who could do it and do it right.
–
P.S. if anyone has a recording of “The Life” by Haddock, it’s the only thing missing from my collection. It was a CTV movie several years back and I’d like to find a copy.
Hear, hear, Karla!
This is a big loss. I’ve written before about how Vivian was a role-model for me and my writing exposing these people. I may be working at a different level, but we were heading in the same direction.
We can’t let these people succeed!
Great to see you in here Greg and showing your support for Vivian. Yes, quite a loss, but only temporary.
Nice piece Glissando, I am sure that the good guys will get ahead… Of course I am talking Vivian Krause!
We have another great Canadian that also has been exposing the corruption and lies.I would love to see some kind of collaboration between Vivian and Donna Laframboise. They both have impressive investigative skills and I would think it could be mutually beneficial to them.Donna already has a book out and if they connected the dots with their somewhat different targets of investigation the results could be impressive. http://nofrakkingconsensus.com/
Dear Glissando,
I am at a loss here as I am not quite up to date with Ms. Krause’s work.
I will start with that link pointing at her “former?” blog, though.
I understand that due to space constrains you could not provide a more detailed background story on her work, but it would have been nice to have it all in one place.
Oy, vey!
Wish her all the best. It’s the rational thing to do.
Have a nice day everyone,
Dr. Richard Unger MD (ret)
